The principals of MAT, Stephen L. Waters and Richard D. Judd, charge $375 per hour
for all time spent, either in mediation or arbitration. The hourly rate applies
only to the time of the selected arbitrator; no fees are charged for the time of
the consulting arbitrator. The hourly rate applies to the time spent in mediation,
the Case Management Conference, the arbitration hearing, legal research, drafting
the arbitration award, and consultation time between the arbitrator and consulting
arbitrator.
MAT does not charge for the time of the consulting arbitrator.
MAT requires a deposit of $3,500 per day for each day anticipated for the actual
mediation, arbitration hearing, and the Case Management Conference.
A cancellation fee is charged if the arbitration is continued, vacated, or cancelled
within 14 days of the date of commencement of the arbitration hearing for arbitrations
scheduled for 5 days or less; if the arbitration is scheduled for longer than 5
days, the time limit for imposition of the cancellation fee will be set forth in
MAT's letter confirming the retaining of MAT to conduct the arbitration.
If travel is required, all actual and reasonable travel costs incurred will be billed,
as well as travel time for the arbitrator. The fee for travel time of the arbitrator
will be set forth in MAT's letter confirming retaining MAT for the arbitration.
