Prior Professional Experience
Mr. Judd has practiced his entire professional career in Denver, Colorado. He started
practicing as an associate with Dawson, Nagel, Sherman & Howard (now Sherman & Howard);
then was an associate with Kelley, Inman, Flynn & Coffee. Subsequently, he formed
Reno & Judd. In 1980, he was one of the five original founding partners of the Denver
office of the national law firm Baker & Hostetler; while at Baker & Hostetler, he
headed the real estate department and was Denver recruiting coordinator. In 1990,
Mr. Judd left Baker & Hostetler and founded Rossi & Judd, P.C. From 1995 to 2000,
he practiced law as Richard D. Judd, P.C.; in 2000, he joined Robinson Waters &
O'Dorisio, P.C.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Judd has a wide variety of experience in business transactions, real estate,
and civil litigation. He has transactional experience in representation of borrowers
in industrial development land financing; preparation of approved documents for
subdivision developments; work-out transactions with commercial lenders; administrative
siting of sanitary landfills and other waste disposal facilities; all types of real
estate acquisitions, sales, and development activities, including governmental approvals;
shopping center development and leasing; and issues relating to CCIOA and homeowners'
associations.
He also has litigated complex cases in the United Sates District Courts in Colorado,
California, Michigan, and Oklahoma,. He has represented both debtors and creditors
in Chapter 11 reorganizations. Other litigation experience includes trial of eminent
domain cases to both juries and commissions, state and federal environmental clean-up
actions, and a variety of tax valuation issues.

Prior Professional Experience
Mr. Waters began practicing law as a Deputy District Attorney in Denver in 1971.
He accepted a position as the First Assistant to the District Attorney in the 9th
Judicial District in 1973, in charge of the Aspen office, and remained in that capacity
until he joined the United States Attorney's Office in Denver. He served as an Assistant
United States Attorney in 1975 and 1976 until he entered private practice by joining
the predecessor of his current firm, where he has remained until the present. Mr.
Waters is one of the founders of Robinson, Waters & O'Dorisio, P.C.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Waters' practice is focused on commercial litigation, and as a result, he has
extensive experience in trying cases involving a wide variety of legal issues. He
has extensive trial, arbitration, and mediation experience in both federal and state
courts, and his practice, while primarily focused in Colorado, has allowed him to
practice in numerous other jurisdictions and to appear before a variety of judges
on both the trial and appellate levels. He has represented individual and institutional
clients in both simple and complex cases involving real estate, securities fraud,
director and officer liability, shareholder litigation, bank liability, intellectual
property, professional liability, oil and gas, partnership dissolution, and condemnation.
Mr. Waters has extensive experience in construction law, representing project owners,
developers, general contractors, and subcontractors. He has been selected as a Colorado
Super Lawyer since its inception in 2006.
